Wilhelm G Solar cremation is a work of art, THC nailed it again.

Quite possibly the best progressive death metal band out of Vancouver. Favorite track: Phototaxic.
Jowy

Jowy Because its fucking organic technical death metal. No gimmicks no fucking with the guitar tracks. This is really really close to perfection.
D.F.
D.F. thumbnail
D.F. Great melding of death metal and spastic rock. Beautiful when it's melodic and punishing when it's heavy. Catchy as heqq. Shredding guitar solos. This might be my album of the year. Favorite track: Phototaxic.
Spear

Spear This is some awesome prog death, drawing influence from all over the metalsphere, with a cool concept to boot. I highly recommend picking up the comic; the art is excellent, and it clarifies some of what's happening in the story. Don't skip this one.

Bad Seed 02:47
Nervously I monitor variations of growth in organic activity. I don, the exoskeleton (neurally controlled mechanical arms). Chaos. Collecting samples. Tragically unaware of my imminent infection. Irreversibly affected. Nauseous and paranoid. Delirious. Space reptile swimming between dimensions. Hallucinations.

Phototaxic 05:11
Plagued. The dragon of inter-dimensional travel speaks in omnipresent dialogues. Trees are glowing. Bleeding colours. This blood’s not liquid. This blood is light. I think I am losing my mind! I am contaminated to the point of being suffocated. Strangled by this damn archaea, I infect humanity. Chains pulling against a bolt. A bolt in a brick wall. A slitting sound and the chains pull slacker. Uncontrollable thoughts of sheer terror and beauty haunt my conscious mind. Celestial . Constellations. My serpentine eye. The water is a glowing spectrum of light. As a clockwork painting. Everyone is melting. Canvas on spindles. So colourful.

Jabberwocky 06:09
The archaea commands me. I am a slave and a host. I am terrifyingly self-conscious. I fear that my mind is now lost. I am no longer in control of decisions. Influence devours my soul. Emboldened I must try to save them. But a part of me wants them dead. The others! Anxious handshakes and scared greetings exchanged. My hands secretly secreting toxins to spread the archaea. Now I speak only gibberish. Now they are feverish. Jabberwocky! Hosts for archaea. See the jaws that bite! Beware the claws that catch! Jabberwocky! The dragon is painted on the inside of my eye. I lay writhing on the floor, sweating blood; it is colourful. It's vibrancy lets me express my decay. In a fetal pose with my head in my hands, I am falling faster and faster into the madness. As the Earth's director of science flew back home, she was beleaguered by the Jabberwock. Soaring beside her escape vessel. She was pierced by the Vorpal Blade. So sick. She's dying. Crash landing inevitable. She becomes one with the mountain face. Photosensitive neurotoxins. She climbs up and up towards the sun. Decaying flesh stringing to her bones, she ascends the boulderous cliff. Overlooking the research facility below, the archaea breaks down all her proteins. The end of her climb and her physical being. She digs her hands and feet into the stone ledge. She is liquified. Mercilessly. Her friends are climbing up to save her. She literally rains down, dooming them all.

I am cognizant of my actions, but I can't will myself otherwise. My mind, alive and hiving with archaea. Soon I will be completely undone. Photosensitive neurotoxins are re-wiring all of me. Directing my body to the nearest source of light. Through the looking glass. Serpent devours planets. Teeth are stars. I shut my eyes. I open my eyes. I close my eyes, I gouge out my eyes, I cut out my eyes. Now I only see inside my mind. We’re all in this space craft. I sit back to watch the view. Dancing of flickering flames. I need it. I need it. I need it. As we float to the sun, we're melting. We're all made of wax. Our skin's gone. Staring out the windows. Leave the earth behind. Maybe they'll survive. And fix this, on earth. But us, for now we're drifting. Make your peace. Take in the view. Liberate. Exonerate. Lovers. Daughters. Sons and fathers. Wives. Mothers. Embrace each other. Share warmth. For soon we will be gone. Mother, mother I am so afraid. I'm not ready to die. Don't be afraid my child. We all have each other. We melt into one. Make your peace. Take in the view. I sleep. I'm melting. Our candle is out. Our solar cremation. Float to the sun. Our solar cremation.

Jetsam 09:10
At the end of our rope. On the cusp of existence. Our candle is out. No remission! Our race is devoured. There is not much left Make peace with your view and your whole species' death. We are all liquid wax. Melting. Contorting. So malleable. The smell is horrid. Bouquet of death. Redolent of disease. So devilishly fresh. Reforming. Give birth to the new. Look at your family and all of this genetic spew. Climbing through the stars. Lightyears reiterate flesh. The dark never felt so safe. Prepare for imminent death! Sit back. Take in the view. As you roll the die can we start anew? Galaxies of black speeding past colourful lights. Vestige of old dying gas as nature returns to the past. Floating. Long way from home. Into the black. The great unknown. I eject myself from the spacecraft. Floating, my skin and flesh liquify. Our candle is out.
